Today, we stopped by ABC Market to pick up a pre-ordered lobster and have it prepped and cooked. While waiting, I happened to overhear another customer complaining that their order was missing an item. When we got home and checked our own order, I discovered that the lobster body was indeed missing; we shop here regularly and never expected them to operate this way, so please be careful.

I walked in needing something very simple but very important — cooking oil (no olive oil, no backup, nothing). Just one of those basic essentials you don’t think about until you suddenly need it and realize it becomes a mission. I was able to find a full 2L bottle of cooking oil without any issues, and honestly that alone saved the day. What stood out most wasn’t just the product availability, but the overall experience in the store. Even with a language barrier at multiple points, the staff was still incredibly patient, helpful, and willing to guide me toward exactly what I needed. There was no frustration, no dismissive energy, and no sense of being rushed. Just steady, respectful assistance from people doing their best to help however they can. That matters a lot. Because good customer service isn’t about perfect communication — it’s about effort, patience, and willingness to help regardless of barriers. And that was definitely present here. I’ve known ABC Supermarket in Westminster since I first moved down to OC, and it’s been around for a long time. It’s one of those classic Asian markets I still visit once in a while. It’s a big supermarket with a wide selection of Asian groceries, fresh produce, and especially seafood. I usually come here to buy lobster and crab when they go on sale, since the prices are pretty good compared to other places. I don’t really come here often though, mainly because of the strong fishy smell inside the store. Every time I leave, I feel like the smell sticks to my clothes, which I don’t really like. Also, it can get very busy and the checkout lines are usually long. The staff at the front can also be a bit hit or miss in terms of friendliness. Parking can also be a bit difficult sometimes since this whole area has a lot of different businesses, so it gets crowded pretty easily. Overall, it’s still a convenient place for good seafood deals and Asian groceries, but I mostly just come when there’s a sale on lobster or crab.

Love this store for all my Asian groceries. Sometimes they have great sales on seafood like crabs and lobsters. We got two 9 lbs lobsters for an amazing deal! Service was great!

A local friend who really knows the area took me to check out this Vietnamese supermarket, saying their sauces and seafood are especially cheap. After walking around the store, I noticed that some of the vegetables are slightly cheaper than at Shun Fat. As for sauces, I did a quick comparison with two Lee Kum Kee products I often buy: • Honey Soy Braising Sauce: As of early June 2025, it’s on sale for $2.99 on Weee, but here it’s $3.19. • Sweet Soy Sauce: $5.99 on Weee, but only $4.99 here — $1 cheaper! I even checked my receipt from Shun Fat back in April: I paid $3.29 for the Honey Soy Sauce (so this place is $0.10 cheaper), and $4.99 for the Sweet Soy Sauce, same price as here. The meat and seafood sections are clean and well-lit. Live Boston lobsters were on sale for $9.99/lb (as of 6/5/2025) and there was a line of people grabbing them. They also had a wide variety of live seafood, probably more than nearby Shun Fat or T&T Supermarket and prices are about the same or a bit cheaper. Bonus: they can clean or prep the seafood for you.
